Every time I play an escape that I don't like for some reason I think, "That's as good as it gets. I've just seen what I don't like. "And yet there are still some venues that surprise me... unfortunately.
I've just played one of them and I honestly have to tell you about it.
Let's start at the beginning. We made a reservation for 9:30 pm for a video room in Israel. I was really excited to see an Israeli venue because I've heard a lot of good things about it. And then we get a message asking us if we could play at 9pm. No worries for us. Except that at 8:45pm when we want to connect the zoom address does not work. By the time we connect it's 9pm we're still on time, except that they let us wait. So we're going to start playing at 9:15 pm without forgiveness without anything, let's go and discover the room.
Yahav, our Game master to whom we will have to address ourselves as Big Brother (I don't know either why and what is the link with Sherlock Holmes°. In any case he will persist during the game not to speak to us and besides I sometimes wondered if he even listened to us.

And then we go to discover the room, finally what our avatar wants to show us because when I ask him to look under a flowerpot he searches in a garbage can, well you see the kind. So yes it's indeed possible that he has trouble with English, but when I asked him to do the same thing when we needed it, he understood from the first time.

Then there was the concern of the GM refusing to talk to us and doing a little bit what he wanted, but what disappointed me the most was the riddles.
They weren't logical, didn't make sense, for example to place an object we had 4 different places, we had to try. Another thing, we had to classify certain objects from 1 to 5, something else that told us: here's how to identify the culprit, well, Big Brother told us that no, it was a false lead.
The only consistent thing in the room was a red herring. I'm not talking about the end in which there was not enough room to put the name of the culprit nor the mirror in which we saw 3 answers for the same question, we had to follow our finger which indicated the right one, otherwise it was chance...

And then, you want me to tell you about the mechanism that wasn't working, but the DOJ didn't realize it so he made us change the solution 3 times before putting the phone down to fix the bug.

After 34 minutes without much interest we finish. When we try to ask him why things are totally out of logic. Answer: It's done on purpose to confuse our players. WHY? Isn't the purpose of an escape about logic, observation and cooperation?

Well, I didn't tell you about the immersive setting... probably because there wasn't one. That's it!

I'm sorry for this young man to have had to live the same 34 uninteresting minutes as us.

However, you should know that this room is not representative of the quality of Israeli escape rooms.

    + We enjoyed +

    • several spaces

    - We didn't like -

    • the imponctuality
    • the very superficial decoration
    • pointless "riddles".
    • a very "young" Game master who refuses to talk to us...
    • the spaces were not really used as they could have
    • few riddles

    For who?

    • Pour les patients
    • Et qui aiment les énigmes simples et illogiques
    • Pour ceux qui ne veulent pas perdre de temps avec l'histoire

    Why play it?

    • Pour voir par vous même
